According to the poll I put up a while ago, most of you guys seem to like the current challenge format. So we'll be keeping it.

But if any of you still have anything to say about the format, feel free to comment over at that entry.

Now that the format is settled, let's talk about the awards. Like most icontests, this community awards icons first, second and third place. Additional categories are added based on the number of icons received. For this community, a new category is added for every 10 icons received.

What do you guys think about this? Should the number be increased or decreased? What are the categories you'd like to see?

These are the categories we've used here in the past:
MOST CREATIVE
MOST LIKELY TO USE
BEST COMPOSITION
BEST USE OF COLOUR
BEST USE OF TEXTURE

As you guys know, each challenge here has two categories. But the voting isn't divided into two parts. When the voting post is posted, all the icons from both categories are combined and members vote for the best icon from both categories combined. Do you guys think the voting should be divided into two parts too?

Lastly, would you guys prefer it if I used thumbnails instead for the pictures in the Image Provided Category? Currently, I just hotlink the pictures directly from Iroh.org, and the pictures may be considered big to some. I haven't received any complaints about this before, but I thought I'd ask to see what you guys think about this.

Now, vote!

It's been a while, my fellow Avatards, but Frozen Avatar is now officially back in action! I hope you guys have been well. ;)

First, I'd like to get some old business done with. To jyusan and icedragoncat, do you guys still want banners for Week 50's challenge? Just say the word, and I'll whip some up for you.

And now for some official business.

As some long time members may know, our current challenge format has been here for a long time. Our current challenge format is in the form of two categories. One General Category where a theme is provided and iconmakers create icons inspired by the theme, and one Image Provided Category where iconmakers use the pictures provided for their icons.

So my question to you guys is: Do you like the challenge format? Does anybody think it's time for some change? Vote and let me know!

Also, we are in dire need of more banner makers! If we get more banner makers in the rotation, the burden on each banner maker will be much lighter, so don't worry about the workload. It'll also smooth things up a lot if one banner maker can't make the banners for a certain week. So if any of you are interested, feel free to apply here.

New challenge following the old format will be up next Friday on June 12th. Look out for it!

Hello, fellow Avatards!

I'm really sorry there hasn't been any new challenges lately. I've been very busy with school these days, and have little time to properly manage this community.

But I'm too attached to this comm to completely give it up, so we'll be taking a short break.

This post is to officially announce that this community will go on HIATUS until the end of May. We will be back in operation on 30th May 2009.

Though I say we will be on a hiatus, I'll still be hanging around. This community won't be completely dead. I might pop in occasionally with some Avatar trivia challenges, or maybe the occasional spam post to keep this comm alive. ;)

If you guys have any suggestions for this community, such as challenge themes you want to see, or a new style of challenge you want to try, feel free to suggest them here.

We could also use more banner makers. The more banner makers we have, the lesser the burden on each banner maker. Go here to apply.

See you guys soon!
